Garden- and ghost ants

Garden ants, or ghost ants, are the most typical species we see causing a nuisance in homes and businesses. Attributes include:

Worker ants are brown black, 3-4mm long. Queen ants are larger at about 10mm.
Worker ants usually enter homes and property looking for food ahead of the summer mating season.

Yellow in colour, worker ants are just 2mm long. Queens are around 5mm.
Unlike other ant species, the queen ant can be replaced.
This means they can create new colonies quickly with replacement queens making them trickier to tackle.
