Be sure to act fast

There are two types of rodent that might warrant calling a mice exterminator.

house mice

Small rodents with grey brown fur, usually less than 90mm in total length, weighing less than 20 grams. These mice typically live for 1 year, reach sexual maturity in 6 weeks, and can have as many as 8 litters a year, with the average litter size of 5. They need 2-3 grams of food a day and can obtain enough water from their food to survive without anything to drink.

wood mice

A larger relative of the house mouse. Largely an outdoor pest, we only advise control if they are entering the home or property.

How We Deal with Mice Infestations

Mice control varies depending of which type of rodent you’re facing. In the case of house mice, we can provide traps and chronic baits which are placed at strategic points around your property based on what the Apest Control team deem to be the likely areas of infestation. With wood mice, it is additionally advised to opt for proofing of gaps to deny any future entry. We specialise in humane pest management and vow never to cause unnecessary pain or suffering while finding a solution to your problems.

Choose CCTV prevention

As with any pest situation, it never pays to wait around. People often believe that a mouse or two in the attic is no real threat, but these numbers can swell rapidly. With that comes a range of risks to your health and property, including:
  • Health hazards posed by mice leaving droppings and urine, potentially in areas containing food
  • Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis (LCM), a viral disease carried by 5% of mice, which spreads through contaminated dust and leads to brain damage if untreated
  • Property damage caused by gnawing wood and other materials
  • Fire risks associated with mice chewing through cables and wires
